12 Clown Coloring Pages: Cupcakes, Bikes and Balloons Free printable PDF · color online

ForAges 4–12Clown fansHome and classroom

These clown coloring pages turn ordinary tasks into cheerful mishaps. One clown holds a frosted cupcake, another waters tall flowers, and a third disappears beneath a pot and a tangle of noodles. There are balloons and a bicycle too, but also an iron, paper clips and knitting yarn. The broad costumes are satisfying to color before a child tackles the busier props.

Ways to use these pages

1

A clown’s day

Pick three activity scenes and tell a short story about the order they happen in.

2

One costume rule

Keep the clown’s nose the same color across pages while changing every outfit.

3

Prop first or clown first?

Color a cupcake or balloon before its clown and see which colors the outfit needs.

Choose a funny first scene

The cupcake holder gives a child one smiling figure and one treat to color. The balloon page has two big circles and a simple costume, with stars around the edges if there is time. Start with the wide pant legs or shoes, then decide whether the bow, nose and ruffle should match. These drawings are friendlier than a stage act: the clown is baking, gardening or moving through a surprisingly busy day. Ask which ordinary job looks funniest in oversized shoes.

Follow the clown through a day

A baker decorates a cake, a gardener pours water over tall flowers, and a knitter sits with a basket of yarn. The ironing page shows a stack of clothes waiting beside the board. Put three pages together and let a child decide what the clown tried first and what happened next. The pot-on-the-head noodle picture could be a very silly lunch break. The birthday cake pictures make a natural companion to the baking scene, with more cakes to decorate.

Slow down for the narrow spaces

The flower stems and petals, noodle strands and pile of oversized paper clips have small overlapping spaces. Those sheets need a narrower pencil and more patience than the balloon picture. Bicycle spokes, sweater yarn and chair slats add different kinds of linework. The paper-clip drawing is especially odd: the clown appears to be holding a tumbling stack of giant clips, not musical instruments or straws. A child can color the figure first and return to the strange prop after a break.

Make a costume plan

Most clowns wear a round nose, curly hair and roomy clothes, but the props change every time. Give one recurring color to the noses, or make each outfit a new combination of spots, stripes and solid panels. Print the same clown twice to compare two costume designs. The balloon collection offers more broad shapes for a party display beside these scenes. Each clown sheet has its own PDF and opens in the online coloring tool; the full book keeps the everyday adventures in one place.

Happy coloring!

Pick the cupcake or balloons for a shorter costume-coloring session, or save the flowers, noodles, giant paper clips and knitting yarn for a more patient afternoon.
