Who these pages suit
These are the pages we would put in front of a child aged 3 to 6. Outlines are bold, the shapes are large, and there is very little fiddly detail — which matters, because a page that is too intricate is the fastest way to make a four-year-old give up on it.
Printing and downloading the free PDF

What age should a child start coloring?
Most children start making deliberate marks around 18 months and can fill a large, clearly bounded shape by about age 3. Before that, colouring is really about grip and mark-making rather than staying inside the lines — which is fine, and still worth doing.
How long should a preschooler spend on one page?
Ten to fifteen minutes is typical for a three- or four-year-old, and that is a perfectly good session. Attention span is the limiting factor, not the page — it is better to finish half a sheet happily than to push through a whole one.
Are these pages simple enough for a 3-year-old?
Yes. Every page listed here has thick outlines and large fill areas. If you want the very simplest, start with the fruit, vegetable and transportation sheets — single objects with almost no internal detail.
Can I use these in my preschool classroom?
Yes, and you do not need to ask. The licence covers printing unlimited copies for a class, a nursery, a library or a childminding setting. You just cannot resell them.
Do you have pages that teach letters and numbers?
Yes — the alphabet collection has a sheet per letter pairing the letter shape with objects that start with it, which is the most common way these get used in preschool.
