These crown coloring pages show heart-tipped crowns on children, a dinosaur, fox, lion and other creatures. Some crowns are tall, some sit above ears or horns, and the sheep has several layers of hearts. Plain backgrounds leave room to invent a color story. Choose a dinosaur or teddy bear for a quick sheet, or spend longer on the unicorn mane and lion's fur.

3

New background

Add a castle, garden or sky behind one character.

Look at the heart shapes

Every picture has a crown with at least one heart, but the shapes vary. A boy wears tall points with tiny hearts, while the penguin's crown has hearts at the tips. The sheep's layered crown is the busiest of the set. Start at the center heart and repeat one color on the other points, or give every heart a different shade. The headpieces are easy to find against the plain backgrounds, which helps a younger child begin without searching through a crowded scene. Begin at the center heart on the crown.

Meet the crowned animals

The dinosaur, unicorn, robot, elephant, fox, teddy bear, kitten, dragon, penguin, sheep, owl and lion each wear the theme differently. Some crowns sit between ears; the unicorn's rises above a horn. A child can compare the biggest crown with the smallest before deciding which animal to print. The fox and kitten leave ample room to color fur, while the dragon offers wings and the robot offers square buttons. The animal collections provide more creatures beyond this royal set. Notice where each crown rests on the animal.

Color the children and prince

Several children wear the same heart theme in different poses. One gives a thumbs-up, another lifts both arms, and a prince waves in a short cape. The clothes are mostly broad shapes, so a child can try matching a shirt or cape to the crown. The faces need only a light touch to keep the smiles clear. These pictures can work as a Valentine activity because of the hearts, but they also suit a make-believe royal story on any day. Repeat a shirt color in the headpiece.

Crowns sit on a variety of animals and characters, so children can invent a different ruler for each page. The simplest pictures are mostly broad faces and jewels; feathers, fluffy fur and a dragon add narrower spaces. A bright jewel color can link several pages into a set.

Make a two-page royal story

Pair a crowned child with a crowned animal and imagine where they meet. A lion and prince might stand at a castle gate; a unicorn and girl might travel through a garden. The plain margins make room for a child to draw those places. Print a single PDF for a short activity or bind the selected set with the matching book. Each sheet can also be colored online. For more heart shapes without crowns, see the heart collection. Draw a setting only after the characters are done.
