12 Eagle Coloring Pages: Big Beaks and Comic Faces Free printable PDF · color online

ForChildren who like comic bird facesFamilies comparing expression and poseColorers wanting feather detail without a full landscape

These eagle coloring pages are a set of expressive cartoon portraits. A bird opens its beak in surprise, another folds its wings with a stern look, and one spreads both wings as if greeting the room. The drawings leave white space around the birds, but many feathers and talons have narrow marks. Choose a simpler upright pose or settle into a longer feather-coloring session.

Ways to use these pages

1

Two bird voices

Choose the surprised open-beak bird and the thinking bird, then give each one sentence that matches its face.

2

Feathers from outside in

On the spread-wing picture, color the long outer feathers first and the small inner rows afterward.

3

Mood pair

Print one stern portrait and one cheerful portrait; try the same two colors in different proportions on each.

Read the faces before choosing a color

The first eagle stares forward beneath heavy brows, while the second opens a very large beak and eyes as if calling out. One portrait sticks out its tongue with little hearts around its head; another holds a wing to its cheek in a thinking pose. Try naming each expression before picking up a crayon. A child might color the cheerful birds first and save the stern one for a different day. The faces are deliberately exaggerated, so these pictures work as character play rather than a guide to real eagle behavior.

Choose between folded and open wings

Some birds sit with wing layers tucked beside their bodies. The one with an open beak lifts both wings, making rows of individual feather tips on either side. Another rests with its wings crossed in front; a smaller upright bird has a long tail extending behind its feet. Follow the outer wing shape first, then work inward through one feather row at a time. The bird coloring pages offer other bird shapes and scenes if a child wants to compare wings beyond these cartoon portraits.

Make the feather work manageable

These are not all quick outline pictures. The grumpy close-up has dense lines beneath its beak and around its claws. The ruffled bird has many layered neck and chest feathers with gray shading, and the raised-wing picture spreads small feather cells across both sides. Color a broad head or beak region first, then decide whether the tiny feather spaces need another shade or can remain white. The smirking upright bird and gentler side-facing one have larger body regions and are better shorter-session picks.

Keep the subject clear

These drawings show eagle-like cartoon birds with large hooked beaks and talons; they do not depict a specific eagle species, nest or habitat. The new close portrait fills the page with brow and neck feathers, while another new bird tilts its head beneath two question marks. Use the expressions as comic characters rather than wildlife diagrams. If a child wants smaller birds among flowers, try the hummingbird coloring pages. Color two portraits differently and give each a one-sentence voice based on its eyes, beak and posture.

Happy coloring!

Pick a broad upright eagle for a shorter activity. Save the feather-heavy portraits and spread wings for careful coloring with a finer tip.
