12 Geometric Coloring Pages: Repeating Tile Designs Free printable PDF · color online

ForOlder children and adults who enjoy patternsQuiet table activitiesHome and classroom

These 12 geometric coloring pages fill the sheet with repeating tile designs: broad cross grids, overlapping circles, arches, star shapes and curved floral motifs. Start with the bold cross tile if you want larger spaces. The fine angular mosaic and floral medallions have far more small regions, so choose those for a longer, careful coloring session.

Ways to use these pages

1

Make a two-color grid

On the bold cross tile, alternate two colors across one row, then repeat the sequence below.

2

Trace a star family

On the arch-and-star tile, color each matching central star before filling the connecting arches.

3

Compare straight and curved

Print the chevron tile and a floral tile; point out where edges turn sharply and where lines curl.

Choose by the size of the spaces

The bold interlocking cross tile has the widest repeated white shapes in this set, and the overlapping circle grid offers four large flower-like centers. They are sensible first picks, though both still cover the page with a pattern. The large interlocking star tile has bigger star centers with narrower connecting bands. For a long session, try the dense angular mosaic or the fine diamond lattice, where small cells continue almost edge to edge. Preview the pattern at full size before printing if broad crayons are the only tools available.

Follow one repeated unit

Some designs repeat in tidy rows; others make a diagonal route across the page. On the arch-and-star tile, find one central star, color it, then locate the same star in the next row. On the striped chevron tile, follow one band until it turns a corner. The six-point grid gathers many little triangles inside larger star forms, while the framed diamond-star design holds several star shapes inside square frames. These are decorative tiles rather than diagrams for naming or measuring formal geometry.

Make a color key

Try two colors on the broad cross tile: one for the cross shapes and another for the spaces between them. For the circle grid, color matching petals the same shade in each large cluster. A third color can mark intersections. The floral symmetry tile and circular floral tile use curling leaf-like lines rather than only straight edges, so they suit a different color rhythm. Sharp pencils help with the thin chevrons, little triangles and curved leaf outlines. It is fine to finish one row or medallion now and return to the rest later.

Use the patterns for comparison

Print one straight-line design and one curved floral design, then ask which parts repeat and which parts change at the border. The shape coloring pages offer simpler individual shapes when a full-page pattern is too busy. For another kind of repeated decoration, browse the mandala coloring pages. Here, the page itself is the artwork: there is no character or empty background to add, and coloring a few tiles can be a complete activity.

Happy coloring!

Begin with a broad cross or circle pattern, then move to tighter stars, chevrons or floral curls when you have a finer tip and more time. Every design is available as its own PDF.

Questions

Which geometric page has the largest spaces?

The bold interlocking cross tile has the broadest repeated regions. It still fills the page with a grid, so it is labeled Medium rather than Easy.

Which patterns need the most precision?

The dense angular mosaic, fine diamond lattice and circular floral tile have many small cells or thin curves. A sharp pencil is useful there.

Can I print only one pattern?

Yes. Every sheet has its own PDF. The book PDF combines all selected patterns if you prefer a pack.

Are these pages for learning shape names?

They are decorative repeat patterns. Some include recognizable circles, diamonds and stars, but they are not formal geometry diagrams.
