Ways to use these pages
Paint the balcony
Choose roof and railing colors for one treehouse, then draw a tiny sign on separate paper.
Blanket squares
Use two alternating colors on a picnic blanket and match one to the food basket.
A balloon landing
Color a floating koala and tell which tree its balloons might carry it toward.
Follow the trunk to the koala
The tree poses have a clear route through the picture: nose and ears, arms around the trunk, then leaves spreading toward the border. Some koalas close their eyes, while others watch the birds nearby. Give the animal a soft gray or tan coat, then separate the trunk from the foliage with brown and green. Even the quieter poses have flowers and sky details, so they still offer something to return to after the character is finished. For another outdoor animal, compare the plants in the camel pictures.
Climb a wooden hideout
The treetop homes are the busiest part of this set. Look for ladders leaning against trunks, plank railings, roof panels and tires suspended as swings. Children can choose a different paint color for each home while repeating one wood color throughout. Ask which rung reaches the balcony and where the hanging tire would move. Work on one piece of the house at a time rather than tackling every leaf in the border. The mushroom pages offer another small-home coloring idea once these wooden hideouts are complete.
Set the picnic and party table
Cake scenes mix balloons, wrapped gifts and striped candles; the outdoor meals put several animal friends around a blanket. Count the guests before deciding how many colors the picnic needs. A checked blanket can use two alternating shades, while the birthday frosting can repeat a balloon color. The koala holding balloons from a branch stays grounded; two other pictures imagine it floating through the sky. Place a picnic, a balloon picture and a cake page in sequence, then let a child describe how the friends got from one scene to the next.
Happy coloring!
Finish a leafy hideout, then choose a picnic or cake scene to give your koala a different afternoon.
