These 20 llama coloring pages show fluffy, long-eared cartoon animals in many make-believe roles. One rides a skateboard, one plays guitar, and another peers from a rocket. For a quick page, choose the sunglasses or winter-scarf portrait with little background; the firefighter and stage scenes have more props and smaller spaces.

Ways to use these pages

1

Color two dancers

Print the tutu and ballerina-stage pages; compare the curtains, lights and amount of background.

2

Make a moon trip

Color the llama under the moon and the rocket picture, then tell what happens between the scenes.

3

Choose a role

Offer the guitarist, firefighter and detective sheets; let a child choose one prop to color first.

Choose a quick picture or a whole scene

The sunglasses llama and the scarf-wearing llama are the least crowded choices: one fluffy body, a small accessory and plenty of white space. The moonlit hillside and boat ride add a setting without too many pieces. For a longer session, the skateboard street, guitar bench, royal chair and fire-truck picture have extra objects to separate. Preview the sheet with the big cupcake if your child wants food art; the llama stands beside and touches the oversized treat rather than clearly carrying it.

Follow the character through pretend roles

Some pages are everyday play: dancing in a tutu, playing guitar, picnicking near trees and rowing a boat. Others are pure make-believe, with butterfly wings, an astronaut suit, a superhero cape and a rocket. The long ears and fluffy coat make the recurring character easy to spot, though these cartoons are not detailed enough to teach the physical differences between llamas and alpacas. Invite a child to pick an activity first and make the coat any color they like.

Color the prop before the background

On the skateboard sheet, fill the deck and wheels, then choose a coat color. On the ballerina stage, color the tutu before the curtains and lights. The fire-truck picture has a hose, striped uniform and vehicle; a narrower pencil helps with those sections. Broad crayons suit the open animal bodies in most pictures. The tropical-leaf and waterfall scenes have enough plants and water to save for a second sitting. A child can leave a tree or patch of sky for another day.

Build a small story pair

Put the moonlit llama beside the rocket llama and imagine what happens between the two scenes. Compare the two dancer pages: one has a close, simple stage, while the other adds curtains and lights. For another long-eared animal, see the camel coloring pages; for more imaginative creature play, try the unicorn coloring pages. Each picture has an individual PDF, so a grown-up can print just the role a child chose.

Happy coloring!

Start with a sunglasses or scarf portrait when time is short, then try a page with a prop-filled stage, street or fire scene. The book brings all the playful roles together.
