ForAges 4–12Bird fansHome and classroom

Parrot coloring pages here split between leafy bird scenes and playful pirate portraits. Two parrots share a perch, one peeks from a tree hollow, and another splashes in a birdbath; the pirate birds pose with a map, lantern, barrel and treasure chests. Choose a roomy pirate character for a quick page or a rainforest scene when your child wants foliage and feather detail.

Ways to use these pages

1

Match a feather pattern

Color one wing with a repeating two-color pattern, then try a different pattern on the tail.

2

Tell a pirate bird story

Pick a map or treasure scene and ask what the parrot will find next.

3

Make a rainforest pair

Print two jungle birds and draw a path between their trees.

Choose a rainforest bird or a pirate pal

The rainforest pictures show parrots in different positions rather than one bird copied across several backgrounds. One flies above flowers, another looks out from a tree hollow, and two share a branch. The birdbath scene has more surrounding objects for a child who wants a fuller picture. The pirate group has a different mood: barrels, treasure, a lantern and a map give each bird a small task. A child can pick a calm perch or invent a whole pirate story. For more birds in different settings, see the bird coloring pages.

Look for beaks, wings and tail feathers

Parrots are recognizable by their curved beaks and long tails. Ask a child to find those shapes before choosing colors. Some sheets leave a wide feather area open, while the pirate drawings add smaller marks around the face and chest. Coloring a wing in two or three stripes makes the feather rows easier to notice. There is no need to copy a real bird exactly. A rainbow tail or a pink beak can fit the story just as well. For a quieter page, start with the parrot on the vine or the one watching from the hollow.

Make a tiny bird adventure

After coloring, ask where the bird might travel next. The flying parrot could visit the birdbath, or the pirate holding a map could ask the rainforest birds for directions. Use the open sky and white spaces around the drawings to add a cloud, a fruit tree or a second perch. Children who enjoy the jungle setting can continue with the rainforest coloring pages. A pair of finished sheets makes a simple two-picture story: first choose the setting, then decide what the bird discovers there.

Half the flock feels at home in a rainforest, with vines, flowers, a birdbath and a mango. The other half plays pirate with a barrel, map, lantern or treasure chest. A close bird portrait leaves room for bright feathers; leaf clusters and chest details need more patience. Children can give the same parrot a new adventure across two sheets.

Print for a short break or a longer session

For younger children, try the broad wings and the two parrots together. The vine, tree hollow and treasure chest have more edges to follow with a pencil. Print one page when time is short, or let a group choose different birds from the book. The six pirate designs come from one original art set, so they share a feather style; the six rainforest scenes were created to widen the subject. Keeping both groups together gives the collection more variety without pretending the pirate birds are ordinary wildlife portraits.
