24 Face Coloring Pages: Funny Expressions and Bold Features Free printable PDF · color online
ForAges 4–10Children who like silly charactersShort home or classroom expression games
Face coloring pages make it easy to notice how eyes, mouths and eyebrows change a character. These bold pictures include a winking child, a wide-eyed robot, a grinning pizza slice and several playful animals. Most pages show one big face on a plain background. That keeps the coloring quick and leaves room to talk about the expression before choosing shades.

Ways to use these pages
Guess the mood
Look at three pictures and describe what each character might be doing.
Change one feature
Draw a different mouth on the back and see how the expression changes.
Make a dialogue
Place two finished faces together and invent one line for each.
Spot the expression first
A round-eyed surprised face looks different from a closed-eye smile, even before any color is added. Ask the child what gives it away: the shape of the mouth, a tilted brow or a wink. The pictures are exaggerated and funny, so more than one answer can fit. A pirate face or clown face can be read as playful rather than assigned a fixed feeling. The smiley face pages focus on simpler circles and grins.
Color the features that tell the story
Most outlines are large enough for crayons. Color the main head or object first, then go back to eyes, freckles, hair and teeth. The robot, strawberry and pizza slice add nonhuman faces for comparison. One face sits inside a flower, and another appears on a star. Those odd little characters show that a face can be drawn on many shapes without turning the activity into a strict portrait exercise. A child can point to the eyes or mouth that made a character look surprised or amused.
Play a guessing game with the faces
Print three contrasting expressions, hide their titles, and ask a child to guess a story for each one. A sleepy face might be waking up; a surprised face may have seen a huge birthday cake. Let the child add a speech bubble or a background on the reverse. This turns the colored pages into a simple storytelling game while respecting that expressions can have several meanings. For a wider feelings conversation, try the feelings hub after coloring.
Each page isolates a large expression, making the eyes, brows and mouth easy to compare. Try coloring two faces with the same skin tone but different hair or background colors, then talk about how the expression changes the feeling of the picture.
Choose one face or a small set
The single heads are low-friction pages for a short session. A face with a hat, glasses or complex hair needs a little more care. Choose according to the child's preferred detail level rather than age alone. When using these to discuss feelings, remember that a drawing cannot tell us exactly how a real person feels. Ask about the pictured character instead of treating facial cues as a complete rule for people. Place two finished faces side by side and invent one short exchange between them.
Happy coloring!
Choose one bold face for a quick color break, or compare several expressions in a small storytelling game.
